*DORAMAS* I Remember You

I Remember You is a 2015 South Korean television series starring Seo In-guk and Jang Na-ra. It airs on KBS2 on Mondays and Tuesdays at 21:55 for 16 episodes beginning June 22 until August 11, 2015.

Its early working title was Hello Monster transliterated in Korean. The story was really catchy. I love detective's and police dramas, so this was quite exciting for me.

Synopsis:

Lee Hyun (Seo In-Guk) was a "strange child" who caught the attention of his father, a police inspector, who later confined the child in a small room to prevent him from breeding criminal thoughts, because he believes he has psychopathic tendencies and at some point he even calls him a Monster. A sweet and intelligent child. After his father died he  went to studied abroad and becomes a reputed professor and an excellent criminal profiler, but he possesses a spiteful tongue. 

Strangely, he loses his childhood memories and a series of events lead him to return to South Korea, where he tries to solve numerous murder cases that seem to be linked to one another in order to find out about the whereabouts of his missing brother and his father's killer Lee-Joon Young.

Cha Ji-An's (Jang Na Ra) father mysteriously disappeared together with Lee-Joon Young, a convicted prisoner who was said to have escaped from confinement. She becomes a police detective and meets Lee-Hyun at a crime scene, the boy she has been stalking since her childhood when she find out he's also connected to Lee-Joon Young.

Their similar circumstances lead them together to work on solving criminal cases and eventually start a romantic relationship.

The characters were well elaborated and the story was intriguing. At the beginning I loved Jang Na-ra's character. But as the story grows I started to like more her partners. About Seo In-Guk, he did a good job. His character was cold but warm hearted and he portrayed him. 

I would have liked to see more love scenes between the main characters but It didn't fit in. It bother me that their chemistry didn't grow and it was a little forced for me. For the situations and their feelings it was too little.

I loved the acting of Park Bo-gum, Choi Won-young and Do Kyung-soo. Must applaud to them. They were extraordinary. And actually the story goes around their characters so good job.

Let' s begin with Do Kyung-soo. His cold eyes and his voice. Wow! It's his second drama and this character was so strong. He's character had a really sad past that lead him to see a twist world and have psychopathic tendencies, killing people that he believes was doing something bad. 

I also like how Choi Won-young continued that attitude that Do Kyung-soo portrayed and always gave me the chills with that cold look. How he showed his twisted but brilliant mind and always got his way out. At the beginning I didn't suspect he was Lee-Joon Young, it only crossed my mind a few chapters later, and I liked that fact a lot.

And last we have Park Bo-gum, he's character was a cold and prideful lawyer. He was actually the lost brother of the main character. When he was a kid, he was traumatized by some events, so he started to show psychopathic tendencies. He blamed his brother for the events that caused those tendencies on him and for abandoned him after their father's dead so he became a murderer.

Of course the story goes more deep, but I don't want to give a lot of details.


The end for me was too open. They never catched Lee-Joon Young, thing that bothers me a lot. Is there going to be a second season? They should do it but they probably won't. They also never said what was the brother's decision. Did he turned himself or he escaped? He leaves the envelope in the bed so it's to assumed he turns himself in but is not sure.

It was a good drama, with great acting, amazing storyline but I didn't like the end.

I Remember You es drama de Corea del Sur protagonizada por Seo In-guk y Jang Nara. Se transmitía por KBS2 los lunes y martes a las 21:55 durante 16 episodios a partir del 22 de junio al 11 de agosto 2015.

Su título inicial fue Hello Monster transcrito en coreano. La historia es muy buena y te atrapa. A mi me encantan los dramas de detectives y de policía, así que este fue muy emocionante para mí.

Sinopsis:

Lee Hyun (Seo In-Guk) era un "niño extraño" que llamó la atención de su padre, un inspector de policía, que más tarde encierra al niño en una pequeña habitación de madera para evitar que se reproduzca pensamientos criminales, ya que él cree que tiene tendencias psicópatas y en algún momento incluso lo llama monstruo. Un niño dulce e inteligente. Después de que su padre murió fue a estudiar al extranjero y se convierte en un profesor de renombre y un criminólogo excelente, pero posee una lengua maliciosa. 

Extrañamente, pierde los recuerdos su infancia y una serie de acontecimientos le llevan a regresar a Corea del Sur, donde trata de resolver numerosos casos de asesinatos que parecen estar vinculados entre sí con el fin de obtener información sobre el paradero de su hermano desaparecido y el asesino de su padre Lee-Joon Young.

El padre de Cha Ji-An (Jang Na Ra) desapareció misteriosamente junto con Lee Joon-Young, un preso convicto que había escapado de su confinamiento. Ella se convierte en un detective de la policía y se encuentra con Lee-Hyun en la escena del crimen, el chico que ha estado acechando desde su infancia cuando ella descubre que él también está conectado con Lee-Joon Young.

Sus circunstancias similares los lleva a trabajar juntos en resolver casos criminales y, finalmente, comenzar una relación romántica.

Los personajes están bien elaborados y la historia es intrigante. Al principio me encantó el personaje de Jang Na-ra. Pero a medida que la historia crece me empezó a gustar más a sus compañeros de trabajo. Acerca de Seo In-Guk, él hizo un buen trabajo. Su carácter era frío, pero de buen corazón y lo supo retratar muy bien.

Me hubiera gustado ver más escenas de amor entre los personajes principales, pero no encajaba. Me molesto que la química entre ellos no creció y fue un poco forzado para mí. Para las situaciones y sus sentimientos fueron muy pocas escenas.

Me encantó la actuación del Park Bo-gum, Choi Won-young y Do Kyung-soo. Debo aplaudirles. Ellos fueron extraordinarios. Y en realidad la historia va en torno a sus personajes así que hicieron un buen trabajo.

Vamos a comenzar con Do Kyung-soo. Sus ojos fríos y su voz. Guauu! Es su segundo drama y este personaje fue muy fuerte. Su personaje tenía un pasado muy triste, cosa que lo lleva a ver un mundo de una manera distinta y tener tendencias psicópatas, matando a la gente que cree que estaba haciendo algo malo.

También me gusta cómo Choi Won-young continuó esa actitud que Do Kyung-soo retrató y siempre me dio escalofríos con esa mirada fría. Cómo mostró su mente retorcida pero brillante y siempre consiguió hacer de las suyas. Al principio yo no sospeche que el fuera Lee Joon-Young, sólo pasó por mi mente unos cuantos capítulos después, y me gustó este hecho mucho.

Y por último, tenemos el Park Bo-gum, su personaje era un abogado frío y orgulloso. De hecho, era el hermano perdido del protagonista. Cuando era un niño, fue traumatizado por algunos eventos, por lo que comenzó a mostrar tendencias psicópatas. Culpó a su hermano por los acontecimientos que causaron esas tendencias en él y para su abandono después de la muerte de su padre por lo que se convirtió en un asesino.

Por supuesto, la historia es más profunda, pero no quiero entrar en muchos detalles.

El final para mí fue demasiado abierto. Nunca atraparon a Lee-Joon Young, cosa que me molesta mucho. ¿Va a haber una segunda temporada? Deben hacerlo, pero probablemente no lo harán. También nunca dijeron cuál fue la decisión del hermano. ¿Él se entregó o se escapó? Él deja el sobre en la cama por lo que se da a entender de que se entrega, pero no es seguro.

Fue un buen drama, con una gran actuación, increíble historia, pero no me gustó el final.
